Email Invitation to Kaicho Minnesota USA Seminar

Tim Jurgens Shihan

All,

I am happy to announce that Akamine Kaicho has agreed to visit Minnesota for a seminar. We will be moving into a larger dojo with five times the floor space and his visit will be our grand opening here in Mankato Minnesota. We will have Karate and Kobudo training sessions as well as several social functions to make this a visit that all can enjoy. If you can make it I am sure you will enjoy the changing of the color in the leaves as well as evening BBQ parties and a trip to the largest mall in the world, the Mall of America. For those interested we can also make a trip to watch the Minnesota Vikings play the Detroit Lions in an American Football Match. We have several students here who can assist with visitors regarding transportation and by setting up home stay’s to keep the costs for any participant low.

The overall schedule is still to be worked out but what we have decided thus far follows:

Sept 25 Akamine Sensei departs for America, due to the international date line he arrives on the same date in Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

Sept 26 we attend the Vikings vs the Lions in Minneapolis (wear purple!)

Sept 27 (Monday) Training in Mankato
Sept 28 - Oct 1 (Tuesday - Friday) Training at various locations around Mankato

Oct 2 - Mankato Seminar
Oct 3 - Tournament and Testing Mankato

Oct 4 Kaicho departs for Okinawa

For those that come we will have cold beer, good food, and great fellowship. I hope that many of you who have accomplished so much in Kobudo and Martial Arts in general can attend and make a great first impression on the region.

Yours in budo,

Tim Jurgens Shihan

A New Term for our Dokokai Chairman

leo

Dear All,

It is now my 2nd term as RKHSK - Philippine Dokokai chairman following the communication from Kaicho Hiroshi Akamine and Shihan Emile from our hombu in Okinawa.

In line with this, I have appointed a new staff to help me work on our mission and our vision.

Vice chairman - Emerson Balbin
Secretary - Ian Ayo
Treasurer - Aristeo Canonigo
Auditor - Lemuel Culaste

I thank all those who helped in the past and I implore your aid again for the next set of activities and projects.

It is my fervent hope to have our dear Akamine Kaicho vsit us again for another seminar and hopefully testing if not this year 2010 or next year 2011. The last time he graced our dojos was in 2005.

There are still a lot to improve on but  believe that with our new set of officers and supporters, we can make a difference.

Carpe diem,

Meneleo de Mesa

Ryukyu Kobudo on Cable Channel 37 UNTV Aug.16, 2009

untv

Last Friday evening, we were able to do the taping for the special feature of RYUKYU KOBUDO for Channel 37 UNTV. It will be aired on August 16, 2009 Sunday from 4-5 PM.

We did our best to show a little bit of kobudo and to explain what it is, its benefits and how it was brought to the country.

Attached is a picture we had after the shoot.

Yours in budo,

Meneleo de Mesa
